Óige Organics was established in 2021 by Dr. Ruth Kelly, an environmental scientist with a background in sustainable development.
The inspiration behind Óige Organics
In a global market already saturated with cosmetic and beauty brands, few stand out for their commitment to luxurious yet affordable skincare using sustainably and ethically sourced ingredients with proven efficacy. Even less stand out for their dedication to using certified organic ingredients with a transparent and ethical supply chain. I wanted to create an Irish skincare brand that uses only pure and natural ingredients rich in phytonutrients, vitamins and antioxidants and containing no artificial colours, fillers, additives or scents which is also respectful of the environment.
Suppliers are carefully vetted to ensure that all raw ingredients are not just vegan but also non-GMO, cruelty free, fairtrade and even certified Kosher. All suppliers are focused on natural and organic products that complement and enhance skin and hair, using science-backed formulations that won’t hurt the planet.
Óige Organics sources its carrier and essential oils as well as its floral waters and hydrosols from a supplier with a firm commitment to providing the highest quality natural ingredients while making a positive difference in the lives of farmers, harvesters, distillers and their local communities.
Our suppliers are committed to environmentally sustainable practices and the use of energy efficient technologies to minimise greenhouse gas emissions.
Our products promise efficacy and purity; are sustainably and ethically sourced and are never tested on animals.
Our products are 100% vegan.
Our glass bottles and jars are sourced from Irish suppliers and are recyclable. Our hydrosol plastic bottles are PET recyclable.
We encourage the three ‘Rs’ of Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. We use only the minimum packaging and we offer our customers the option of refilling and reusing hard plastic containers at a significantly reduced cost.
25c from every bottle of facial oil sold will be donated to Irish environmental charities on a six month rotating basis.
